Billy Jones has advanced an interesting proposal. A performing arts center is being advanced for the city of Greensboro. Billy is advocating that it be located in east Greensboro.
Recall how the Melderec crowd has been trumpeting all the economic development benefits to be associated with the performing arts center. And remember how politically active east Greensboro citizens have verbalized feeling shut out of all the economic development that takes place in other parts of the city.
If Robbie Perkins and his Melderec crowd are serious about being strong advocates for east Greensboro citizens, then perhaps they should put their money where their mouth is. Forget about all the elitism and the vested interests associated with the calls to locate the project downtown or at the coliseum. If it advances, perhaps Robbie and his minions should locate the performing arts center in east Greensboro.

With all respect, East Greensboro will get this project when hell freezes over and pigs fly.

Why do you feel that way, Tech? After all, Robbie and the Melderec crowd CARE about east Greensboro!

"If Robbie Perkins and his Melderec crowd are serious about being strong advocates for east Greensboro citizens......."
Does anyone REALLY think they are actually serious about being strong advocates for east Greensboro citizens?
Does anyone REALLY doubt that the only they're really serious about when it comes to east Greensboro citizens is getting their votes, as instructed by the east Greensboro puppet masters, when it counts for fulfilling the MELDERAC con Simpkins cabal's agenda interests?

Oh, I know, Bubba. But there is, after all, an appearance to maintain.

Joe, caring don't do the trick. Greensboro politicians talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. As they say in Texas, they're all hat and no cattle.

"As they say in Texas, they're all hat and no cattle."
Robbie Perkins as J.R. Ewing.
I love it!

East Greensboro is his political base!
He can't walk away from his base... can he?

As a long time resident of East Greensboro I feel as if the White Street Landfill decision was no more than a token gesture. Or was that jester?
Anyway, if this sort of economic stimulus really works (and I'm not saying it does) then East Greensboro has earned it: http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2012/01/but-rich-elite-wont-come-to-east.html
We've paid our dues, it's time the contract was honored.

Perhaps Goldie Wells can adopt it as her next cause, Billy.:)
