WFMY had a report yesterday regarding Robbie Perkins and the restaurant tax. (ht: Michele)
Perkins contends that the premise is "absurd" that a restaurant tax has been advocated:
Note that WFMY takes Perkins' side on this matter. But in fact, WFMY got the report wrong; and Perkins is not telling the truth.
The fact is that he proposed such a tax last year; and advocated it before a group of community leaders at the Grandover. And this year, he responded to a candidate questionnaire circulated by TREBIC, and told the organization he would support such a tax.
It appears that Perkins is now trying to cover his tracks. And he has the help of a local TV station to enable him to do so.
More conspirators joining the conspiracies?
How can you possibly sleep at night knowing that everything is so aligned against your interests, Joe?

David, I agree with Justin Conrad from Libby Hill. He said Perkins' characterization of the issue as "contrived" is disingenuous. It is pretty clear what Perkins' record has been on the issue.
Marikay Abuzuaiter initially supported the restaurant tax, and then flip-flopped.
And Nancy Vaughan first was undecided, but later came out against it. As you probably know, she has stated publicly that it is a woman's prerogative to change her mind; and with her own tendency to flip-flop, you never know what she is going to do in the long run. Especially if the machine really wants it.

It would appear that David Hoggard
may be part of the problem.
Everything is a conspiracy to those
who support the status quo.
David could do very well
with the incoming old gaurd.
There may be plenty of incentive/bond money
coming down the road.
Thoughts David?

My thoughts?
Your writing style has improved nicely.

One of the interesting things is that Perkins does not unequivically state that he will not advance a restaurant tax, and that he will not vote to seek it.
He seems to be very interested in the matter of who is leading the charge on the restaurant tax; but he is obscuring what his own position is.

"Your writing style has improved nicely."
Too bad your politics haven't.

I just like to remid people that non-issues have their way of becoming real issues quick. I look at it this way, if it was not an issue then why have it as a question.

Once again Abner, geo, GH, (whatever the flavor of the day is) insinuates Hoggard and (elsewhere)Craft buy favors with whopping $100 checks and a single vote.
Old, tired, stupid and yes conspiratorial.

To mix and match noteworthy quotes from my favorite natterer of negativity: "Why are we not surprised" at the "usual suspects" when we hear "woof woof".

Yeah, your right. I forgot to included "Alternately Clued". I particularly like that one because it doesn't imply that others are wrong, they just have a different perspective. I've always thought that phrase was to show the more tolerant and inclusive side of you, Bob.
