With all of the outrage over Casey Anthony being acquitted for the murder of her child, at great expense to the state to try her, with her being locked-up for three years before her trial, has anyone considered that her greatest mistake was her timing was off? If her child had been dispatched eight or nine trimesters earlier, it would not have been a problem. She would not have spent three years in jail, awaiting trial, and the State of Florida wouldn't have spent $1 million of taxpayer money to try her. Interesting.
Take it from the local Pediatrician fired for saving a baby's life (with nary a deep-blue blogger/local journalist blinking an eye): In the good old USA, kids and fetuses don't matter at all.
Food for thought: While the Pediatrician was getting battered black-and-blue for doing her duty, the same local hosptial that fired her was covering the tail of their Chief OB - who was having an extramarital affair with a nurse - and who ultimately aborted their baby in their "love nest". Very back-alley.
Everyone knew what was going on. But no one in a suit blinked until the Medical Board got involved - because the nurse filed a complaint/produced the bloody evidence.
I NEVER made this stuff up.
But Dr. Johnson is not supposed to be angry or bitter. She's supposed to "get over it".
Studies have shown abortion has decreased crime and entitlement costs. The majority who utilize these services are lower income, single mothers with no ability to care for a child whose father is typically lower income as well. If brought to birth, more than likely the child would live in poverty, depend on others (taxpayers) for their existence, or wind up in prison for an extended period of time costing the taxpayer thousands of dollars a year in incarceration. In the case of murder, defense, jail time, appeals, etc., costs on the average in these cases, millions of dollars. I don't want to support these people and their offspring. Why should I be penalized as a result of the irresponsible decisions of others.
Harold, my belief is that, if abortion was illegal, less of these pregnancies would occur. But I don't think the answer to the problems you cite is to kill the babies. I think adoption should play a bigger role instead of the single mother keeping the child to raise him or her. And I also think we need to contract the welfare state.

You obviously haven't spent much time in my East Greensboro neighborhood where 15 year olds living with 45 year old great grandmothers are raising babies who will grow up to be just like them. And where do these girls meet the men who make them pregnant? Sunday services. Seems it's been well known in the Southland for generations that nothing makes a girl hornier than a good old fashioned fire and brimstone preaching service.
Yeah, you've got all the solutions to problems you know little or nothing about.

And your credentials that give you the expertise on this subject are.......?

Bubba, You're right I have no expertise. But I'm not pretending that I know a solution. Joe is.
