I had heard a couple of months ago through the grapevine that George Allen might be considering a run against Senator Jim Webb, who defeated him four years ago. Now it is being reported.
Allen is a good guy, who did not even remotely deserve the way he was treated by the various media and by the electorate. I hope he comes back and is able to serve once again our neighboring state of Virginia.
Joe, if he does the usual suspects will be back with their phony outrage hypocrisy.

"Phony outrage" is a perfect description, Sam.

If Allen was running against Webb in 2010, it not have been been close. The Obama media made Allen look like a racist. Allen was just one casualty of the Obama 2008 Yes We Can. It is imperative that Obama and his minions be purged from office in 2012, if we have a country left by then.

Watch for Webb to pre-empt Allen by switching parties sometime next year.

Do we think that Webb really wants to run for reelection?

"Do we think that Webb really wants to run for reelection?"
Given what's happened in the nation, and particularly in Virginia since he was elected, perhaps not. But if Webb decides to run again, the chances are fair that he will switch parties next year. There are several reasons why he might make the jump if he is running again.
2012 is shaping up to be a tough year for Democrat incumbents in the Senate, with 23 seats (including their two "independents") available to be taken, with only 10 Republican seats to be contested. Assuming Obama continues on his current course of agenda driven disaster, it's easy to imagine as many as 10 seats to be added to the Republican side.
With Virginia back in the red state column, Webb's only chance may involve a return to the Republicans, and hope that he can beat Allen in the Republican primary. That might be pretty tough to do, particularly if he does not repudiate previous support for health care "reform" and the DREAM act.

I agree for the most part, Bubba. I find Webb a bit difficult to understand.
