Several years ago, Pricey Harrison burst upon the local political scene with an over-the-top House race funded in large part by the money now-imprisoned former House Speaker Jim Black raised for the state Democratic Party. Pricey was the closest thing we have to local royalty, having descended from one of Greensboro's wealthiest families. Many folks jumped on her bandwagon. She was elected even though she did not live here.
Her campaign pieces took issue with the incumbent, Joanne Bowie, whose chief offense was to refrain from spending too much of the taxpayers' money on favored Democratic programs.
Pricey and her colleagues in Raleigh have spent the state of North Carolina into the ground. We face a $3 billion deficit next year; massive unfunded liabilities; and much higher state debt.
We have a choice this year, and his name is Jon Hardister:
Nice work!
