Dr. Mary Johnson catches up with a gentleman from a prominent Asheboro family. And she finds someone who surprisingly has reason to empathize...
Small town North Carolina no longer has the luxury of chasing away some of its most productive citizens.

It seems that all of society is now targeting the productive population or those who enable or facilitate production.
Those who sit home and watch TV are seldom bothered by the government- and often are supplied with funds to help with the inactivity. But woe to the one who undertakes productive activity. Official visits from multiple agencies, fees, licenses, reports and returns to be filed on dictated schedules. It is said that the Federal government formulates at least 150 new rules every year that impact business. I better stop for now.

I thank you for the link, Dr. Guarino. I'm sure Buzz will get a kick out of it.

Greensboro is not the only place in NC where "business as usual" is practiced.

Buzz has coined several terms as it pertains to the way the people's business is done in Asheboro, Bubba, one of them being "incestuously incestuous" . . . meaning that the same well-named/moneyed/connected people intertwine and bedfellow to lord over everyone else. He knew it was there. He did not realize how bad it was until the state of N.C. dumped Child Support "Inforcement" on Randolph County to run.
As it pertains to the Asheboro bar and the various BOD's (particularly the town's largest "non-profit"), the term is spot-on.

Enjoyed this post by Mary. Not what happened but the good guy standing up and speaking out. We need more speaking out and Mary does this very well. If we are to defeat the evil corruption in our society we need not only to live the Ten Commandments ourselves but to speak out against those who do not.
This is how we got to this place in our history: too many of us were tolerant and didn't want to get involved so a vacuum of decency was left and the bad moved in. BB
Mary I can't seem to comment on you site, but I do visit. Am not on the computer as much as I was. Guess i am getting tired. :) BB
