Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan further tipped us off as to how she will stand on the abortion issue (as if there was ever any doubt). Under questioning from Senator Feingold, she affirms that any state regulation of abortion must make allowances for the "health" of the mother.
Of course, this opens the floodgates for abortions to occur at any point during a pregnancy, for any reason. A mere allegation of psychological distress over being pregnant can be used to justify abortion during the ninth month. But that appears to be Kagan's position-- to allow that to happen.
But here is another great indicator of where she stands. When she worked in the Clinton White House, she prevailed upon the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology to insert language into its statement on partial birth abortion that suggested there were circumstances when it was the best method for the mother's life or health. The statement was being drafted at a politically opportune time.
Notwithstanding any of the platitudes she uttered during the hearings today, everyone has a pretty good idea that she is pro-abortion-- and that will be reflected in her jurisprudence.
The only "health" issue Kagan, Hagan, and Feingold(sounds like a law firm) people are concerned with is the health of this portion of The Agenda(TM).

The fascinating thing about this, Bubba, is how freely she expresses her pro-abortion point of view. Republican nominees face the wrath of Democratic senators and their accomplices in the media if there is even any suggestion they are might rule in a pro-life direction. They are not free to say a word on the topic.

Will there be PAYBACK for Dr. Tiller?
Will there be COUNTERTERROR against right-to-lifers?
Will it be murder, or JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE?
WHO will be the most effective and deserving TARGETS for anti-right-to-lifist counterterror?
WHERE do they LIVE?

Emily's List lists Kagan as a Senator they helped elect, and Elaine Marshall as a race they are targeting
They advocate #1 no parental consent for minors, and #2 allowing travel across state lines for minors to obtain abortions. I cannot see how even a pro-choice lawmaker thinks these are okay, but Emily's List supports these issues (according to their own newsletters) & supports Hagan & Marshall, and every other female Democrat in a local or state race in NC.

Sorry about that - It should read - Hagan as a Senator they helped elect!

Theresa, your confusion is understandable. Kay Hagan and Elena Kagan are nearly indistinguishable on the abortion issue. They both think there should be lots of abortions.

"Kay Hagan and Elena Kagan are nearly indistinguishable on the abortion issue. They both think there should be lots of abortions."
Yes, indeed. It's such a good "choice" for birth control, isn't it?

I wasn't aware that Elena Kagan was a medically-trained expert on the process of partial birth abortion. I didn't see it on her razor-thin resume. By the way, is Kagan the political female version of Barack Obama? She might even have a longer resume than he.

When will "any state regulation of abortion... make allowances for the 'health' of the BABY?!?!?!?" Murdered babies are NOT healthy babies. Ugghh. Don't get me started...
