Andrew Klavan has, as usual, some stimulating video commentary regarding the tendency of modern liberalism to stifle the speech of conservatives. Great stuff.

I have noticed over the past 15 or so years that when Republicans are in power they use far fewer tactics to squelch the views of the liberals. Once the libs are in power, all of the respect goes out the window. I guess they are not confident enough to allow a true dialog on issues, they just have to crush the opposition and ram their agenda through. They know once a rational thinking person spends some time on their ideas that their agenda would just melt away like an ice cube in summer. That is why there is such a rush to pass cap and tax, stimulus bills, healthcare reform, (insert any other liberal item here).

Aww, poor conservatives. Look, calling out stupidity is not the same thing as trying to silence someone. Speak up all you want, but don't expect your ideas to be automatically granted respect. That is earned, or not as the case may be.
Cue Bubba for an example.

Unfortunately the libs are able to speak stupidly and be heard/listened to. That is how we are in the mess of an economy. I am not sure where you see "calling out" but what is true is that the libs wind up changing the rules to squelch their opposition when they get to power while the Republicans are not as nasty with the same procedural tricks.
You are right in one thing in that the Republicans typically allow more respect for the liberals than has ever been earned considering the stupid ideas that have come from their side (see Department of Energy, Social Security, Sub-Prime housing, Cap and Tax, Communist healthcare, Vietnam war, and on and on).

Roch, Klavan is speaking about more than liberals "calling out stupidity". He discusses political correctness, speech codes, 'Net Neutrality, Fairness Doctrine-equivalents and the like.

Those extremes are condemnable and not the exclusive domain of the left by any means.

"Cue Bubba for an example."
No need.
You provide all the example we need every time you post, Seymour

Liberal truth consists of half truths, rumor, suggestion, intimidation, slight of hand (actually slight of mouth), vile rants, and down right lies! Cue "what's his name" for example! Beau
