Really? "Utopian promises of a government takeover of health care?"
One cannot think and take DeMint seriously at the same time.

Some tort reform for medical malpractice would go a long way toward "solving" our health care crisis. Senator DeMint correctly states that we do not need a government takeover of 1/6 of our economy to reduce the costs of health care in this country. But, Obama won't do that, because the lawyer lobby gives the Dems too much money, one of the largest lobbies around.

Thomas Sowell: "We hear endlessly about how many Americans don't have health insurance. But, if we stop and think — which politicians hope we never do — that raises the question as to why that calls for government-controlled medical care.
None of the people who are trying to rush government-run medical care through Congress before we have time to think about it are pointing to Medicare, Medicaid or veterans' hospitals as shining examples of how wonderful we can expect government medical care to be when it becomes "universal."
As for those uninsured Americans we keep hearing about, there is remarkably little interest in why they don't have insurance. It cannot be poverty, for the poor can automatically get Medicaid."

ROch, according to DRUDGE, the President of the United States is not completely familiar with his own healthcare reform bill - the one he wants to ram down our throats in a matter of weeks:

And yet, we're supposed to take HIM seriously?

Looks like our Congressman from the hill country is getting some deserved heat.

By the way, how's that "Obama is a pragmatist" working out these days?

"One cannot think and take DeMint seriously at the same time."
Too funny!
Your use of the word "think" and "seriously" in reference to yourself is the ultimate oxymoron.

Senator DeMint said that ObamaCare was going to be Obama's Waterloo, and that reminded me of the old Stonewall Jackson song, Waterloo:
Waterloo Waterloo where will you meet your Waterloo
Every puppy has his day everybody has to pay everybody has to meet his Waterloo
Now ol' Adam was the first in history with an apple he was tempted and deceived
Just for spite the devil made him take a bite
And that's where ol' Adam met his Waterloo
Waterloo Waterloo...
Little General Napoleon of France tried to conquer the world but lost his pants
Met defeat known as Bonaparte's retreat and that's where Napoleon met his Waterloo
Waterloo Waterloo...
So I ask, will Obama lost his pants and meet defeat at his Waterloo?

DeMint is correct in suggesting that stopping Obama here becomes paramount in emasculating the dangerous "progressive" agenda.
Unfortunately, successful thwarting of the Obamanation danger would not do a thing toward stopping the babble, dribble, drool, and spew in support of said agenda, as so ably demonstrated time and again by the very first commenter on this thread.

What's curious is that if this health care bill is so vital to our national economic success, why is none of it implemented (except for the tax increases) until 2013...? And if it's not implemented for FOUR years, then why the rush to pass it before the American people (and the President, for that matter) can take a good look at the details and make an informed decision...? Hmmm.....

Great point, Everest. One of the techniques we have seen with the new administration, in concert with the congressional leadership, is to create a false sense of urgency, and coercive approaches, so that no one has time to discover what is in a given piece of legislation.

Roch,
Obama should take the red pill.

What an insult to the physicians of this country. They should take him to task on this one. He makes an accusation in prime time television that physicians are dishonest, Really? How does he know and what proof does he have of this scam?

Don't you boys know God made tonsils just to send rich Doctors kids to college, just like appendixes and gallbladders? Under the Obama plan doctors would be paid the same whether they took them out or just left them there to rot, eliminating that irresistable temptation to perform all these unnecessary surgeries when they could be out playing golf instead. Obama knows best.
(Disclaimer-Please ignore me. I am one of those greedy doctors and thus can't see past my own selfishness. As Hillary wisely knew 16 years ago regarding this same ongoing urgent crisis, which then as now needed to be fixed in the next month or else it would collapse, don't listen to us. We're the problem.)
