We learn today over at Bench Memos that Obama's first Appellate Court nominee, David Hamilton, has played several important roles in the past.
With the ACLU, he has been both a board member and also a vice president for litigation.
He has been a fundraiser for ACORN.
As a district court judge, he did what he could to prevent the state of Indiana from implementing its informed consent law on the matter of abortion; and tried to use legal techniques to suppress criminal evidence. But both efforts ultimately were reversed by higher courts.
Now, rest assured: the New York Times has called him a moderate. I suppose that means we should not be concerned.
Update: Bubba has more.
Lucy Van Pelt to Charlie Brown: "Well, Charlie Brown, you win some, you lose some". Charlie Brown: "That would be wonderful".

Great imagery, Ken, that certainly fits.
It is reassuring to know, however, that Obama's supporters say that he is moderate and pragmatic.

Moderate and pragmatic? Isn't that what Roch said that Obama is?
