About a month ago, we went to see a movie called "Fireproof" at the Sedgefield Crossing theater off High Point Road. I am pleased to report that there were no shootings or instances of gunshots fired in the theater when we were there, as far as I could tell.:)
And the movie was very good. It provided, within an entertainment vehicle, a powerful argument for the preservation of marriage against the ravages of divorce. And it did so, unapologetically, while adhering to a Christian worldview.
The film has been out for some time, and is now available on DVD-- and presumably, in the video stores. It stars now-grown-up Kirk Cameron, who as a child actor played a smart-aleck kid in one of the familiar 1980's era sit-coms, "Growing Pains".
NRO had a very good review last week; and I agreed entirely with its appraisal of the film. Check it out.

If it were done in "rap" you probably would have been issued a 45 at the door! Beau

Beau, fortunately that type of film was not playing-- at least as I recall.
We felt entirely safe unarmed.:)

our church, grace community, is showing that film for its valentine's day "dinner and a movie." maybe a good one to do for couples at your church, too. :)

Michele, that is a great idea for a valentine's dinner event. I think your folks at Grace will enjoy and appreciate the movie.
