The next chapter of Jerome Corsi's book discusses Obama's record on foreign policy.
Corsi argues that Obama has been soft on defense.
When Obama ran for US Senate, he said he would vote against supplemental appropriations for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, but later voted in favor of it. He filed a bill in January 2007 to de-escalate the war in Iraq. And he called the war "dumb".
But his positions on the war in Iraq and the militaryhave been in evolution, and he has changed some of his positions. Corsi argues Obama ultimately would not do anything in Iraq much different than his opponents.
Since he declared his candidacy to run for president, Obama has advocated moving toward a world without nuclear weapons. He has called for a global ban on producing fissile material for weapons. He also had called for an expansion of the US/Russian ban on intermediate range missiles. Obama apparently believes if we take these steps, other nations will necessarily follow. That is naive.
Corsi discusses Obama's no-nukes advisor, Joseph Cirincione. This man felt we should have accepted Gorbachev's disarmament proposals at Reykjavik. He embraced a faulty piece of intelligence that suggested Iran is not working toward nuclear weapons. When Israel launched an attack against the nuclear reactor Syria was developing, he spoke against it. In fact, Cirincione's work has revealed a fundamental anti-Israel resentment, a tendency to blame Israel, and calls for that country to give up its nuclear weapons.
Another Obama adviser who is anti-Israel is retired General Tony McPeak. He has also tended to blame Israel, and has felt that the Jewish people have an excessive influence on American foreign policy. In a 2003 interview, he said Israel should withdraw some of its settlements on Gaza and the West Bank.
The chief political adviser to the Hamas prime minister, Ahmed Yousef, endorsed Obama. Obama's people said he does not accept Hamas' legitimacy. But one of Obama's former advisers had been in regular contact with Hamas through his work with another organization. This person had also co-authored articles with a former PLO adviser tending to blame Israel and calling upon that nation to soften its stance.
Corsi also discusses Obama's promise to meet with our enemies without preconditions, which has been discussed at length in debates with John McCain and Hillary Clinton. He points out JFK and Bill Clinton had adopted this policy with poor results in dealing with the Soviets and North Koreans, respectively.
President Bush made a speech during May before the Israeli Knesset. He derided as appeasement the advocacy of negotiation with terrorists and radicals. Obama felt this was directed against him. This revealed his hypersensitivity on foreign policy issues. At that point, he changed his position about meeting with foreign leaders without preconditions.
Corsi questions what Obama thinks he will achieve in a face-to-face meeting with Ahmadinejad; and suggests Obama believes we have foreign policy problems because he thinks we are the bad guy. But Corsi also points out, correctly, that Iran is sworn to destroy Israel. He asks precisely what Obama would do differently in dealing with the mullahs that would result in a better outcome for the United States or Israel.
Corsi claims Obama's foreign policy does not necessarily derive from a consistent approach to defending our national security interests. Instead, he says Obama seems to think his personality and willingness to negotiate will transform international politics, so as to allow disarmament, military reductions and withdrawal from Iraq.
Corsi suggests, instead, that our national interests are best served from a position of strength.

We learned much today with the release of the CAC Records. We learned that William Ayres is much more than just a guy that lives in Obama's neighborhood. We learned that it was Ayres that got Obama appointed to head the CAC that Ayres formed. We knew that William Ayres, and his wife, Dohrn, is a terrorist thug that escaped punishment for their deeds in the 60's and 70's with the radical group, Weather Underground, but we are now learning that he has not stopped his hatred for America. In the event that you are to young to remember those days, read the link below for information on these radical thugs. These thugs integrated back into society, but they didn't leave their radical ideas behind in the 60's.
We learned that Obama was rapidly dispensing $60 million from the CAC to radical groups whose purpose was to radicalize students (in Weather Underground-style radicalism), not raise their math and reading scores, for which is was intended.
Yes, Obama has a lot to explain now about his relationship with Willim Ayres, the American Terrorist. It was much more than Obama has admitted to before. And, while these released papers appear to be revealing, the question is what has been scrubbed out of these papers while their release was delayed?
Mr. Obama got some 'splanin' to do.
And, the New York Obama/Times today was ready to attempt a whitewash of the scandal that they knew was coming. Is this information going to get to the American voters early enough to make a difference? Barack Obama too radical to lead. Barack Obama too radical for America.
Barack Obama was schooled well in Chicago machine politics and Chicago-style radicalism. No one with connections such as these has ever headed a presidential ticket for a major political party in this country.
