Ben Holder has a fascinating post with regard to another possible link between the check-kiting scandal and the Greensboro Police Department matter. This is a compelling read.
In a nutshell: one of the men wanted in the check-kiting scheme-- Terrell Raynor-- has been associated in "business" with a woman whose husband, Alvis Fewell, owns the Alexander Deveraux establishment on High Point Road in Greensboro. Jerry Bledsoe has previously reported that a person jailed, who also happened to be related to Fewell, and who was involved with drug dealing, knew Hinson from that establishment. And of course, Hinson's ex-wife has also been charged in the check-kiting scheme.
Some of the comments over at Ben's site in response to his post are interesting also.
Studying Ben's post leaves one with the impression that the complex web of relationships he described may have some level of significance.
Important questions:
What was Hinson's relationship with Fewell, if any? Did it have any significance with respect to his ex-wife's connection to the check-kiting scandal? Are all of these interrelationships mere coincidence, or is there some significance to the fact that some of these folks apparently knew and/or did business with each other?

I keep wondering when Ben is going to ask why NE Guilford was not insured for replacement cost?
It seems like common sense to insure for fire or self-insure and set aside the funds over many years to afford a complete loss.
Who is to blame?
...anyone out there have their homes insured for 20% of replacement value?
